Salespeople are the not numbers on the dashboard and not parts of a machine. Hell they are not even really employees. They are corporate sales athletes.

Working in sales is unlike any other profession in the corporate world. They are required to show up and perform in front of customers every single day. As the front facing face of your organization they better be at their best if they hope to impress customers.

This means equipping them with the Mental Health, EQ and Resilience training they need to perform at a high level. It means providing them with the pads and helmet they need to go out and play a contact sport without burning out.

Most sales organizations haven’t caught up to the sports world yet. This is evident when we imagine what it would be like if a sales leader coached LeBron James. They would be totally clueless on how to support LeBron with his mind and body.

In this video Jeff Riseley, Founder of Sales Health Alliance, joins Francois Bourdeau on his Tuesday Tips podcast to talk about Mental Health in the sales community.

Topics that we cover:

  •  Jeff’s motivation for starting the Sales Health Alliance.
  • Why companies should treat employees like corporate athletes.
  • How organizations are starting to change their thinking about this topic.
  • Sales teams and Formula 1.
